Total Validator Basic

Note: Total Validator Pro may be a better purchase if the following appears too restrictive.

Licensing

One licence allows the installation of one copy of Total Validator Basic on one PC for use by one person using a single login. Licences may not be transferred to other people or to other PCs.

Once a licence has been activated, it cannot be activated again. This means that it cannot be used to reinstall Total Validator Basic on the same or another PC. A new licence may be required instead. So users should ensure they have a backup of their PC should they need to reinstall.

Updates

We regularly release updates to keep up with the rapidly changing W3C standards and the HTML Living Standard. An installation may be updated to any version we release in the 12 months after the installation is activated. After that, a new licence will be required for a further 12 months of updates. Note that as Basic licences cost more than renewing a Pro subscription, you may wish to consider buying a Pro licence instead.

We do not provide support, downloads, or allow the activation of old releases, as these may refer to outdated standards or contain bugs which have been fixed. So users should ensure they download, install, and activate the latest release while they have access to it.

Total Validator Pro

Licensing

One licence is required for each person using Total Validator Pro. So if the Pro version is installed on a shared PC (real or virtual), each person using Total Validator on that PC must have their own licence.

If the licence owner is a registered organisation with an active subscription, then the licence may be transferred to another person in the same organisation. But only one transfer per licence may be carried out each year.

Updates

We regularly release updates to keep up with the rapidly changing W3C standards and the HTML Living Standard. Each licence includes a free subscription which allows an upgrade to any version we release in the 12 months after the licence is purchased. After that the subscription must be renewed to download further updates.

We do not provide support for old releases, as these may refer to outdated standards or contain bugs which have been fixed. We do not provide old releases for download, and do not allow them to be activated without a current subscription. So users should ensure they download, install, and activate the latest release as this becomes available.

When a subscription expires it can no longer be used to download any release of Total Validator Pro, including any release that may have been available during the subscription period, and old releases may no longer be activated. So we advise users keep a backup of their installation, in case it is needed for reinstallation.

Total Validator CI

Licensing

One licence is required for each installation of Total Validator CI. Concurrently active copies, whether they are running on the same or different systems, are considered to be separate installations, each requiring a separate licence.

Because having a copy of the Pro version is essential to using the CI version, you cannot have a CI licence without first having purchased at least one Pro licence.

Each licence includes a free subscription which allows an upgrade to any version we release in the 12 months after the licence is purchased. As with licensing, you cannot have a subscription for Total Validator CI that does not include at least one copy of Total Validator Pro.
